Kitchen, the end game

Monday, bright and early the cabinets arrived. Each painstakingly brought up on foot or in the elevator if it would fit. First here are a couple pictures of the empty space.

I like the color of the wood pieces. And I like my choice of cabinet colors. A very subdued sage leaning almost to beige. I can definitely see the green in them though.

First picture is just after delivery. The others are after they finished for today. The island is not yet positioned where it will be. But you can get the idea. I also found out the counter won’t arrive until Wednesday. The electrician and plumber come tomorrow.

I’ll post more tomorrow! Ciao for now!

Hi Julie, I chose the color from one of those huge Pantone color packs. I have no idea what it is called! Sorry. Glad you like the color.

Thanks Liz, greens and yellows are also my favorites. Subdued colors for something like cabinets, but as you know, I love red and orange too for living spaces. 🙂 I’m a color person!

So happy for you Nancy now your kitchen is being installed. I just love the colour, what is it called? Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Beautiful. Green is my favorite colour and that is a lovely green for a kitchen. It is going to be beautiful.

Your project is turning more and more beautiful as time passes. You will have a fantastic kitchen soon. Congratulation.

Thanks Matt! Not totally back to good health. I’m told it takes a couple weeks. But I’m functional. Excited about this kitchen!

Yes, it is definitely catching on in the progressive areas. Umbria is not progressive so it will take more time here! 😁

Definitely seeing more of the newer, open concept kitchens in the apartments being built now — especially in northern Italy. We’re in Bergamo and that’s all you see in new buildings and renovated older buildings.

Thanks so much! I’m glad you like it. I like it a lot too. Different from anything I’ve had before. I alway have loved green!

Ha Pamela, and why is the TV in the kitchen? And a table? And a sofa? They don’t really have cabinets at all in the older, farmhouse kitchens. They have a sink, with a curtain under it. They have a big table which is the work space. A stove a refrigerator, the washing machine (😁) and a lot of big old armoires where they store stuff. This kitchen I’m building is not the old school type of kitchen. It is replacing a minuscule kitchen. For people who love foods they don’t like a nice big kitchen. No one wants to see, or SMELL food. But the open plan is starting to catch on in big cities etc.
