577 positive cases in Umbria. 10% rise.
63,927 in Italy. An 8% rise. This is extremely heartening! The relief I feel is a surprise to me. A light at the end of the tunnel. Wow. I hope it continues. If we all stay strong…and stay HOME it will…

It is hard to believe I’ve been writing everyday for 20 days!
From The NY Times —
…health experts say it will require extraordinary coordination and money from leaders as well as near-total cooperation from the public.
…If it were possible to wave a magic wand and make all Americans freeze in place for 14 days while sitting six feet apart, epidemiologists say, the whole epidemic would sputter to a halt.”
West Virginia… “All this scare is hyped by the media,”
Listen…IT IS NOT. Please people. Look at the deaths in Italy…it will arrive…even in West Virginia.
Can you do it? Can the US population stop this virus?
For me, I find the very idea that this is a partisan event crazy, pazzo! And I keep hearing that. PEOPLE it is NOT partisan. This is a GLOBAL pandemic. It has absolutely nothing to do with politics. You, and your children, your parents, and your grandparents are at great risk if you don’t acquire a brain. Please.

Faremo insieme!
Stay safe everyone.
Hi Jodi!
I just heard from your friend Janelle. And it made me remember our nice lunch in Panicale. I also talked to Meg this afternoon on FaceTime. She tells me about the Zoom get togethers planned. Need to be a little earlier there for me to join in. This house arrest makes me miss all the nice trips we used to take, for lunches and wine tastings…it will return someday I’m sure. I’m happy to hear some places are cracking down there. I read about all the people who went to the Oregon beaches. People just aren’t taking this all seriously. Like me you e got to stay HOME to get to our future. It’s not that hard. But sadly the word from the top makes me think the US is headed for disaster. Taking off the restrictions is a very. Bad. Idea.
We are lucky to have our friends at Calagrana providing us with meals. All of the brits and expats try to support them. They are our friends. Other than that we have no options. Not even pizza!! 🙄
You take care, stay home and stay safe!
Thank you so much Nancy for keeping us informed…I watch for your post daily! Oregon is now a shelter in place state but we’ve pretty much been doing that anyway. This past weekend there was a deluge of people getting out not distancing…Multnomah Falls, the beaches, state parks etc. For that reason they felt it was necessary to make it official. Today in Portland is take out day to support our restaurant s…it’s going to be hard to pick! Like you and Luther though we don’t need a declared day to take advantage of take out at our favorite places.
Love and be well!
